No. Pages are extracted by copying content streams directly — no recompression or re-encoding occurs. The extracted pages are identical in quality to those in the source PDF, including all embedded fonts, images, and vector graphics.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

No. Encrypted PDFs cannot be split directly because the tool cannot access the protected content streams. Use the PDF Decrypt tool first to remove the open password, then split the unlocked PDF.

What happens if I enter a page number that exceeds the document's total pages?

The tool validates page numbers against the actual page count of the uploaded PDF and will alert you if you specify a page number outside the valid range. Only valid page numbers within the document's range will be included in the output.
